Very enjoyable and well written book about the author’s experience working at Walt Disney World.
This is Christine's second book, after the very excellent Two Girls and a Mouse tale.This is a little different than the excellent "..... Earns her Ears" series by the same publisher. It focuses more on Christine's visits to the Walt Disney World parks than her job as a Cast member at the Animal Kingdom. Not that she skimp on the fun & frustrating days of working in the Summer heat and daze in Orlando, but she covers more of the 'touristy" stuff.Such as her love for eating (but as she pointed out, despite her many high caloric yummy meals, she actually lost weight, working long shifts in the heat & humidity and walking 10000+ steps every day). Seems like every other chapter covers a new and fascinating meal there at the parks. Don't read on a empty stomach, your tummy will growl! Her description of the Chocolate Lovers Kitchen Sink ice cream sundae is mind boggling!But it's not all fun & food, some great tips for possible Disney Cast members are included, plus mucho stuff for us guests & tourists.Such as : Disney Pin trading tips- how to spot a 'scrapper", and why most CM dont really care if you trade a scrapper with them, and of course Pin Trading courtesies.Also: "Ways to Thank a Cast Member"- a very critical chapter. We are all so used to the outstanding service at all Disney parks we often forget to thank them. I now make it a point to thank the custodial staff. Also- tipping tips for non-tipped CMs (no, not cash, but perhaps a pin?).I also really like the chapter on "Disney Myths, True or False". Fascinating!A "must get" for any fans of the Most Magical Place on Earth!
I purchased both of Caroline’s books about Disney to learn more about Disney and the Disney College Program. I enjoyed reading this book and thought it was really fun and interesting! I highly recommend this book if you are interested in reading about the DCP or the Summer Alumni Program!
