First!Well, this is exactly what a book about bluffs should be like in 2016... I was a bit curious of the content, since many times, bluffing seems to be about reading the soul of your opponent, bullying the table or particular opponents, taking crazy shots and being on top of the world when you succeed... Well, at least on TV.But this is a Jonathan Little book and if you have read any of his previous books (I own and read them ALL - big fan, I should warn you) you know that this is going to be a serious, analytical, thorough work. Being a Mathematics teacher, I love his structured and analytical approach. He breaks down his thoughts about positions, preflop, flop, turn and river bets, stack sizes etc.I have read a part of this book, and I love his hand examples. You won't find attempts to bluff with 72o (at least I didn't spot any). I felt that most of the hands discussed were either good starting hands that don't connect with the board, or medium strenght hands that semi-connect but are turned to bluffs... And I LOVE THIS! This is what we aim for, widening our ranges and managing to play marginal hands and make a profit of them. Playing garbage hands is still not adviced (I guess except very special occasions), normal poker rules still apply here: Position, stack sizes, hand values and (he mantions it quite a few times) opponents tendencies! Yes, this is a crusial factor in an attempted bluff and Jonathan is correct to mention it... But NOT the only factor...Anyway, if you have read a Jonathan Little book before, you know what to expect in this one too... Excellent, expert advice from a master of Poker books (in my opinion by far the best book writer-instructor in the last years), serious analysis of the game (and Bluffs in this case) and the price is actually very very good, for the size of this book!Thanks JL, once again you gave us great material to study.

Enjoyed every page and reminded me the fruits of aggression in a systematic way. Applied to my next tournament and felt I’m stronger player now. Highly recommended.
Great book and love the way Jonathan writes and teaches poker. I recommend this and all other media he puts out.
I liked this book as an addendum to all the other poker books I have read. Not much new, but how much is new over a game this popular and well discussed. It just puts things in a new manner of interpretation and is coherently written. Designed for intermediates not novices. i enjoy reading well written poker books, because it brings out things that I know to do but fail to do. I like Jonathan Little's books because they are easy to follow and usually well written. He charges too much for them, but if I bought it, that obviously has not stopped me from purchasing it.
Great advice on incorporating more bluffs into my game. I found particular value in the sections on open raising and three betting with a wider range preflop and in the advice on short stack play. Very worthwhile book.
As an overly tight and somewhat passive player, this book is an immense help.I expect to improve my results.
